What you will be doing
Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improved productivity, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across multiple facilities.
Develop and maintain standardized work instructions, process documentation, and best practices.
Conduct process audits and workflow assessments to eliminate waste and improve operational performance.
Utilize data analysis and statistical tools to identify trends and solve complex manufacturing challenges.
Support the development and implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor process performance.
Manufacturing Support
Provide day-to-day engineering support to production teams.
Investigate process failures, bottlenecks, quality concerns, and production inefficiencies.
Develop corrective and preventive actions to improve overall process reliability.
Collaborate with supervisors and operators to improve manufacturing methods and equipment utilization.
Evaluate and optimize material flow, plant layouts, and workstation ergonomics.
Project Management
Lead or participate in capital improvement projects and equipment installation initiatives.
Develop project scopes, cost estimates, timelines, and implementation plans.
Coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Support automation and technology advancement initiatives.
Quality Improvement
Partner with Quality teams to identify root causes of defects and drive improvements.
Utilize root cause analysis methodologies such as:
5 Why Analysis
Fishbone Diagrams
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Support the implementation of process controls that ensure consistent product quality and customer satisfaction.
Health and Safety
Promote a robust safety culture and ensure engineering solutions prioritize employee safety.
Conduct risk assessments for new processes, equipment, and facility modifications.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
What you must have
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical or related engineering discipline
2-4 years of manufacturing engineering or process engineering experience.
Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
Experience working in a multi-site manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
Experience in glazing, architectural glass, window manufacturing, door manufacturing, building products, or related industries is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in using continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
