Job Description POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
Community and Family Services support work is focused on supporting, promoting, and enhancing well-being of individuals and families as well as assisting immediate needs of clients, donors, and visitors through emergency client assistance, Food Bank, community feeding programs, community referrals, seasonal programs (including Income Tax, Backpacks, Summer Camps, and Christmas) and other programs that are developed to meet the needs of clients and the community.
Community Service Leadership is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating social service programs on behalf of a community outreach organization. They oversee the program's budget and policies regarding participant involvement, program requirements and its benefits.
The role will plan, develop, organize,



and give oversight to corps-operated Community and Family Services facilities and programs and manage a team of support workers and professionals to achieve standardization and develop outcome measurement tools to determine best practices in a community and family services setting.
Accountabilities The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties.
1. Program and Service Responsibilities Provide oversight and leadership to relevant programs and special/seasonal events (such as, but not limited to, Christmas Hamper, Summer Camp, Canstruction, Best First Day), ensuring ministry and program objectives are consistently met within Salvation Army mission, vision, policies, funder expectations, and all legal requirements.
In collaboration with the Leaders - research, plan, develop, prepare, and deliver creative and innovative programming designed to address community needs, ensuring ministry objectives are consistently accomplished and that a spiritual focus is applied to program initiatives.
Identify gaps in service through trend analysis and develop activities, services and/or partnerships to fill these gaps in consultation with the Senior Leaders.
Ensure strong community and local Corps/ministry unit partnerships and collaborations are formed or maintained in order to develop new programs and initiatives.
Work alongside Corps/ministry unit leads to create and facilitate integrated programming throughout the area.
Operate within effective change-management, organizational development, and staff engagement principles to promote service excellence and develop strong teams.

Donor/Community Relations In conjunction with the senior leaders, facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of a short-term and long-range strategic community relations plan.
Continually develop creative and engaging ways to ensure the Mission, Vision and work of The Salvation Army Community and Family Services is understood and promoted.
Seek opportunities to build and develop strong relationships with current and potential stakeholders (businesses, community-based organizations, and other potential partners); ensuring partners/donors are recognized and commitments are fulfilled.
Steward stakeholders to ensure continued support.
Maintain a presence at local community events, fairs, etc.
Create recent fundraising initiatives and provide ongoing updates, in coordination with the Community & Family Services management team.
In collaboration with the Community & Family Services team, update and maintain promotional materials, such as presentations, brochures, flyers, advertisements, newsletters etc.
Oversee marketing of relevant programming; train and teach other staff to use marketing/advertising software and provides approval for designs before being made public.
Oversee social media for the ministry unit, ensuring a dynamic social media presence for CFS programs and special events.
3. HR Responsible for the leadership and coordination of the volunteer program for local Community and Family Services, including directing the development strategies for recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers.
Liaise with THQ/DHQ Volunteer Coordinator to gain an understanding of all Volunteer Policies & Procedures / Best Practices and ensure compliance throughout all London Community an
