The Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy productive technologies. INF also regulates electrical and mechanical safety services and licenses individuals and vehicles operating in the territory.
The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for the accurate recording and tracking of information related to a centrally-managed fleet of mobile assets and heavy equipment via an asset maintenance system in support of economical and quality service for the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT).
Located in Inuvik, The Fleet Coordinator reports to the Fleet Manager and is responsible for day-to-day tracking of maintenance information of the GNWT's mobile assets, including all GNWT light vehicles and the Department of Infrastructure heavy equipment fleet.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance management systems.
Knowledge of the theories and principles of heavy equipment and vehicle operation, preventive maintenance,
rehabilitation and repair.
Knowledge of fleet management principles and theories.
Ability to analyze large amounts of data in order to draw conclusions that will assist in decision making.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, and use of fleet management software.
Research, statistical, an analytical skills.
Computer skills in a suite of office software.
Ability to train other employees so that they can effectively utilize vehicle maintenance software.
Ability to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical subjects.
Ability to commit to actively upholding and consistently practicing personal diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness, as well as safety and sensitivity approaches in the workplace.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
Diploma in business management or related discipline, with two years of experience in data analysis or data management capacity.
A Valid Class 5 Driver's license.
