Ontario Public Service has released a notice of hiring eligible applicants for the post of Sports Fish and Biomonitoring Scientist. They’re appointed at this post to provide scientific expertise and leadership in the studies of trace contaminant data from the ministry’s sport and juvenile fish contaminant monitoring programs. People who applied for this post are required to lead and coordinate the preparation and distribution of the Guide to Eating Ontario Sport Fish.

Candidates who applied for this post are also required to investigate and assess surface water compliance issues related to ambient water, sediment, and aquatic biota and conduct special studies specific to sport fish working at this post.





They’re also required to define sources and causes of impairment and develop recommendations for remedial actions applied for this post.

Candidates applying for this post are required to provide expert scientific knowledge, guidance and advice to Regional staff and clients in the assessment of surface water non-compliance and impacts of industrial working at this post.

Job requirement

Candidates applying for this post must have a dedicated Ontario class G driver’s license to travel to province-wide field sites and meetings to be eligible for this post.

People must have software programs for database management to edit and manipulate large amounts of data and conduct analyses of large data sets to be eligible for this post.

They must attain dedicated experience using computers and associated software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheet, graphical, and statistical, to summarize and describe data to be considered as an asset for this post.

They’re appointed to this post to measure the effectiveness of controls or remedial actions to be eligible for this post.
