The Opportunity
Are you a passionate nursing professional who thrives on teaching, mentoring, and elevating care standards? As a Nurse Educator at Chartwell, you’ll play a vital role in supporting nursing staff, residents, and families by providing clinical education, guidance, and leadership. Your expertise will help ensure that resident care is delivered with excellence while fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous quality improvement.
What You’ll Do
Provide clinical education and training to nursing staff in areas such as palliative care, pain management, and abuse prevention
Mentor, support, and guide staff to ensure high-quality care delivery
Chair the Clinical Practices Committee and lead continuous quality improvement initiatives
Collaborate with care teams, families, and healthcare partners to keep care plans current and effective
Ensure compliance with health regulations, audits, and licensing requirements
Participate in safety initiatives as a member of the Occupational Health & Safety Committee
Support the Director of Care with investigations, incident reviews, and resident care initiatives
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor of Science in Nursing and current nursing registration with province
Three to five years of experience working with seniors in Assisted Living or Long-Term Care
Proven experience developing and delivering clinical education
Knowledge of health regulations, acts, and care standards in Alberta
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Additional Requirements
Flexibility to work hours required for effective operation, including on-call responsibilities
Ability to respond to emergencies and manage high-pressure situations with professionalism
Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including walking, standing, and supporting staff in clinical care
Comfort using AI and other digital platform systems and tools to support daily work
Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
