SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that inventory movements are correctly transacted, and inventory is accurately recorded, verified, and maintained in the computer in a timely manner and also that purchased product conforms to and meets Alexandria's needs and that of Alexandria's customers. The incumbent will also be responsible for investigating problems, issues and concerns and implementing corrective actions, conducting internal audits, and facilitating improvement and countermeasures as they relate to inventory management.
Job Duties and Essential Functions:
- Maintain inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and determine the causes of inventory discrepancies of day-to-day inventory transactions.
- Aid in the training of Distribution Centre employees on the use of RF inventory transactions with the goal to eliminate any discrepancies.
- Lead and organize Physical Inventory counts on a quarterly basis, reconcile discrepancies upon completion of the count process.
- Develop Cycle Count Program and perform routine cycle counts.
- Maintain/arrange picking locations, ensuring ERP system reflects these locations
- Load and test software for RF inventory tracking system.
- Provide feedback to RF software provider on any issues that arise from new software builds and current functionality.
- Perform routine tasks for direct supervisor (Distribution Manager).
- Manage Distribution Centre work orders, control the issue & receipt of material.
- Manage inventory location.
- Where should inbound inventory be stocked
- Ensure inventory levels in the DC by moving material from offsite storage, tent, etc.
- Daily interaction with Managers, Supervisors and shop floor employees within the Planning,
Distribution, Customer Service and Manufacturing Departments.
- Participate in project teams, committees and meetings as required
- Advise Engineering of concerns regarding unit of measure and recommend solutions.
- Consult with Maintenance on the construction of new bin locations.
- Provide services to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of inventory management
- Work closely with other team members to accomplish project goals
- Design, develop and execute automated and manual test cases to meet project requirements
- Communicate progress and results in a timely and accurate manner
- Contain suspect material while ensuring an adequate supply of acceptable material to support customers
- Maintain, measure and report on assigned key performance indicators (KPI)
- Prepare and present reports as required
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements:
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience in related field.
- CPIM Certification or on track to be certified a definite asset.
- Basic knowledge of RF inventory tracking systems.
- Knowledge of ERP software systems.
- Knowledge of quality systems
- Possess “Big Picture Operation” knowledge
- Minimum 3 years in a Supply Chain role in a manufacturing / distribution environment is preferred.
- Experience with AX and advanced Excel skills are an asset.
