About the Role Our client is seeking a visionary Curator to lead the exhibition programming for their contemporary art gallery in Kimberley . This hybrid role involves extensive remote research, conceptualization, and artist communication, complemented by on-site responsibilities for exhibition planning, installation oversight, and gallery engagement. You will be responsible for developing innovative exhibition schedules, fostering relationships with artists and collectors, and shaping the gallery's artistic direction. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of contemporary art, strong curatorial vision, and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a passion for bringing impactful art experiences to the community.
Key Responsibilities Conceptualize, research, and develop exhibition proposals and programming for the gallery.
Identify and engage with emerging and established artists, fostering strong working relationships.
Oversee all aspects of exhibition planning, including loan agreements, artwork condition reports, and installation logistics.
Write exhibition texts, artist statements, and curatorial essays for catalogues and promotional materials.
Engage with collectors, patrons, and the public through talks,



tours, and gallery events.
Stay abreast of current trends and scholarship in contemporary art and curatorial practice .
Requirements Advanced degree (MA or PhD) in Art History, Curatorial Studies, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience as a Curator or Assistant Curator in a contemporary art gallery or museum setting.
A strong network within the contemporary art world and a proven ability to discover and champion new talent.
Excellent research, writing, and public speaking skills.
Proficiency in managing exhibition budgets and logistical coordination.
Knowledge of contemporary art movements, theory, and artists is essential.
