Sandvik is a Global Leader of OEM Manufactured Underground Mining Equipment. Our Winnipeg ITH (In-the-Hole) Center of Excellence is the Global OEM Manufacturer of our Underground ITH Drills and Support units.

Currently, we have an opening for an Electrician. This role is well suited for a certified electrician who wants to apply their electrical expertise in a heavy equipment manufacturing environment and gain hands-on experience with world-class underground mining equipment.

As an Electrician, you will work with high- and low-voltage electrical systems, electrical assemblies, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and testing on Sandvik mobile mining equipment.

What you will be doing

Install high- and low-voltage electrical assemblies into mobile mining equipment.

Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to determine faults and malfunctions.

Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, drawings,



and technical documentation.

Inspect equipment for proper performance and identify required repairs.

Repair or replace defective electrical components, parts, and systems according to scopes of work.

Test repaired equipment to ensure safe and proper operational performance.

Identify additional repairs and compile parts and labour estimates.

Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, parts listings, and drawing revisions.

Follow established scopes of work and delivery targets.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and stay current with product and technical developments.

Environmental Health and Safety

Complies with Sandvik Mining safety policies and applicable government, customer, or industry regulations and requirements.

Identifies and reports unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and/or near misses.

Maintains tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.

Maintains an orderly work area and ensures housekeeping requirements are met.

Attends Environmental, Health and Safety related training.

Wears the required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.

What you will bring along

2–5 years of relevant electrical experience

Strong ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics

Demonstrated electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Ability to repair and replace electrical components and systems

Experience with heavy equipment, mobile equipment, or mining equipment considered an asset

Previous experience with Sandvik equipment considered an asset





Strong verbal and written communication skills

Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
