Wealthsimple is looking for an intern in their Capital Markets team based in Toronto. You will report to a Trader and manage trade desk risk while ensuring seamless daily inventory balance. Your role includes high-volume execution and developing automation tools using SQL and Google Apps Script, creating impactful solutions that enhance desk profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
• Own the entire return process and manage daily settlements
• Monitor contract breaks and manage risk continuity




• Facilitate cross-functional engagement with trading and engineering teams
• Support general desk operations as needed
• Build automation tools to streamline trading tasks

Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a relevant program
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and SQL for automation
• Basic understanding of financial markets and securities lending
• Solid sense of urgency and prioritization skills
• Coachable and ambitious with a desire to learn
