Join the Cardiac Anesthesia Division at KGH, supporting a rapidly expanding cardiac surgery program. Provide essential anesthesia care and consultations in a high-acuity environment.

KGH is recruiting for its Cardiac Anesthesia Division, consisting of eight members dedicated to comprehensive anesthetic support for cardiac surgeries. You will engage in pre-operative consultations, administer anesthesia, and oversee post-operative care in our dedicated Cardiac Surgery ICU, handling approximately 600 cases yearly. This role includes a 50/50 mix of cardiac and general anesthesia and the chance to work with short-term mechanical support.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide anesthesia for cardiac surgeries and consultations
• Support TAVI program with 150 annual cases




• Conduct TEE support for complex non-cardiac surgery
• Participate in teaching and research activities
• Fulfill call requirements across various surgical disciplines

Requirements:
• Completed 12-month fellowship in cardiac anesthesia
• TEE certification from the National Board of Echocardiography
• Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada
• Ability to manage acute pain and sedation services
• Meet hospital privileging requirements
