Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Financial Analyst in the Energy Sector in a hybrid work environment in Edmonton, Alberta. We are seeking a highly analytical Financial Analyst to support a dynamic portfolio of technology and business initiatives. In this role, you will play a key part in evaluating investments, developing business cases, building robust financial models, and providing decision-makers with the financial insights required to drive organizational success.

Typical Day Develop and maintain business cases, financial models, and investment analyses for strategic initiatives and projects.
Prepare project cost estimates, funding requirements, and total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments.
Conduct financial evaluations including ROI, CPVRR, NPV, and other investment analysis methodologies.
Review, validate, and document financial assumptions provided by project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Ensure consistency and alignment between business case narratives and supporting financial models.
Support project forecasting activities, including variance analysis and financial performance reporting.
Consolidate financial information across multiple initiatives to provide portfolio-level reporting and insights.
Enhance financial modelling tools, templates, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and standardization.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance,



Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Business, or a related field.
3-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A;, investment analysis, business case development, project controls, or corporate finance.
CPA designation or active pursuit of a CPA designation is considered an asset.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and complex formulas.
Demonstrated experience preparing forecasts, budgets, cost estimates, and financial evaluations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences.
Additional Consideration Knowledge of utilities, energy, or regulated industries is considered an asset.
Familiarity with portfolio reporting, project governance, and investment approval processes.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including technology, operations, and finance stakeholders.
Experience supporting technology, digital transformation, infrastructure, or capital investment projects.
Benefits & Compensation Total rewards: $45.00 - $55.00 hourly
12 months contract position
Pay rate 45+ based on experience, also incorporate option
