Role Description The Cut and Etch Technician is a full-time, on-site position based in Newmarket, ON. In this role, the technician prepares, cuts, and etches metal samples according to established procedures and specifications, ensuring accurate measurements and high-quality finishes. Daily activities include operating and maintaining cutting and etching equipment, performing visual and dimensional inspections, and documenting results for quality control and traceability.

The technician follows safety protocols, keeps the work area clean and organized, and collaborates with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and address process issues. All other Job duties assigned by Quality Manager.

Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year experience.
- Ability to operate and maintain cutting, etching,



and related metalworking equipment, with a strong focus on precision and safety.
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or metal fabrication environment, preferably in a quality-focused role.
- Good knowledge in GD&T;
- Basic understanding of metal types, material properties, and sample preparation techniques for inspection or testing.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate measurements, record data, and follow technical instructions.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity, including the ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle materials and tools.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow supervisory direction and collaborate with colleagues.
- Commitment to workplace safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in machining, metalworking, or materials testing is an asset.
- Willingness to learn recent processes, adapt to changing production demands, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
