My name is Julia and I''m a working parent living in South Frontenac, Ontario.
Im looking for a responsible, fun, compassionate person to provide respite care in our home to a 4 year old with disabilities.
Our son just started school and we need help on a regular basis to help get him ready for school and on/off the bus.
About our family: - Were a family of 4 with two dogs - our son is a cuddly 4 year old who has cerebral palsy, visual impairment, developmental delay and epilepsy.
He is energetic and loves to move and play, but is unable to walk and is nonverbal. - our other son is 6 years old and loves sports and video games and is your typical kid - Mom is a nurse and dad works construction - both work full-time, mom is a shift worker - The boys nana will also be at the house to make meals and provide assistance with our 4 year old with special needs, but she will primarily look after our 6 year old Were a fun, easy-going family and wed love to find someone whos kind, respectful and energetic to help our family out.
About the role:
The role will include assisting our 4 year old with their morning routine and after school routine.
You will need to: - provide personal care for a child including diaper changes - be able to provide assistance with feeding a child - be able to place child in and out of special needs seating/wheelchair - be able to give oral medications or learn how to give oral medications as instructed (if necessary) - perform light housekeeping duties - have a recent CPR certification and vulnerable sector check - have a drivers license and your own vehicle to get you to our place located off of Perth Road near Buck Lake in Southeastern Ontario.
Experience with children with disabilities would be an asset. A willingness to learn, adapt and bring a positive, nurturing attitude is essential.
