Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Heavy Equipment Technician role based in Red Deer County, AB.

The Heavy Equipment

Technician will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy equipment and vehicles used in construction, mining, and other industrial sectors. Daily responsibilities include performing inspections, identifying mechanical and hydraulic issues, carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and completing detailed service records.



The role involves using diagnostic tools, reading technical manuals, and collaborating with parts and service teams to ensure timely and accurate repairs.

The technician will also support proactive maintenance programs, follow safety protocols, and communicate clearly with supervisors and customers regarding equipment status and repair recommendations.

Qualifications

- Robust skills in Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance to perform routine service and preventive inspections.
- Hands-on experience with Heavy Equipment, including familiarity with construction and industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in Equipment Repair and Troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Relevant trade certification as a Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyperson.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports; comfortable using modern diagnostic tools.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a service team.
- Previous experience in construction, mining, or similar heavy equipment environments is an asset.
