The HR Administrator – Safety is responsible for supporting operational excellence in health and safety related to matters of reporting and compliance. Together with the corporate health and safety team, operations, and other stakeholders, this position drives our health and safety culture and plays a pivotal role in achieving Brandt’s goal of being recognized for world class health and safety.

What You Will Be Responsible For
Program Documentation
- Help maintain and distribute safety program materials.
- Maintain timely accurate and complete information related to safety meetings, various program and health and safety program assessments, (e.g. required documentation, records, and reports).
- Maintain timely, accurate and complete information related to compliance.
- Ensure all communications are timely, accurate and complete.
- Work collaboratively with others (operations, the corporate health and safety team, and others) to assess program compliance and needs.
- Help support the injury management program by organizing and filing documentation, and reporting program performance
Program Implementation and Compliance
- Work collaboratively with others (e.g. operations, the corporate health and safety team, and others) to track compliance with the company’s requirements for:
- safety meetings;
- mandatory safety training;
- first aid assessments;
- hearing conservation;
- inspections;
- emergency risk and violence hazard assessments;
- incident and injury management; and
- other workplace programming.
Process and organize health and safety documentation and communications.
- Collaborate with others in supporting and coordinating health and safety activities (e.g. audits, inspections, etc.).
- Report on workplace programming compliance and outcomes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new initiatives.
- Collaborate with others in continuous improvement of the program and its implementation.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and report progress on leading indicators, lagging indicators and health and safety related initiatives.
- Collaborate with the corporate health and safety team to ensure the health and safety program is current.
- Participate in cross-company special projects and initiatives.
- Support efforts to analyse and respond to organizational needs.
- Ensure communications and presentations are professional and meet current corporate brand guidelines.
- Meet other internal and external standards and requirements.
- Ensure personal and team competence in new areas/topics/legislation by attending external training sessions and achieving certification, as required.
What We Look For
- Two to three years' experience in a health and safety role at the organizational level, focussing on administration of health and safety programs. Equivalencies will be considered.
- Possesses a solid foundation of subject matter expertise and health and safety knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in person and in writing,
with very solid interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use computers and computer applications effectively and efficiently.

Education and Professional Development
- The following are strong assets but not mandatory; equivalencies will be considered:
- Completion of or evidence of working towards completion of a post-secondary credential in health and safety or other discipline (e.g. 1-yr certificate from a post-secondary institution).
- Achievement of or evidence of working towards achievement of a recognized professional health and safety designation (e.g. training certificate from a regional safety association).
