The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding and supporting Hampton Securities’ institutional client base by leveraging deep market knowledge, robust issuer relationships, and a proven ability to deliver tailored equity solutions. The role focuses on relationship management, idea generation, and revenue growth through comprehensive institutional coverage.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Equity Capital Markets & Issuer Support: Play an integral role in executing equity financings for public issuers, by generating institutional interest, supporting bookbuilding, and maintaining ongoing issuer relationships.
Idea Origination: proactively source and originate equity financing opportunities for issuer clients while generating and distributing actionable trading and investment ideas to institutional investors.
Client Coverage & Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for institutional investors, providing ongoing coverage, market insights, trade ideas, and execution support while building long-term, trust-based relationships.
Investment & Trading Solutions: Partner with trading, research, and capital markets teams to deliver customized equity solutions aligned with client mandates, risk profiles, and portfolio objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of institutional clients, with a focus on long-term relationship development and revenue generation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for institutional investors, providing timely market intelligence, trade ideas, corporate access,
and execution support.
- Facilitate corporate access initiatives such as equity raises, non-deal roadshows, investor meetings, conferences, site visits, and management calls.
- Develop new business through proactive prospecting, institutional outreach, referrals, and participation in RFP and onboarding processes.
- Monitor client trading activity, commissions, and profitability to ensure alignment with revenue targets and firm objectives.
- Ensure all sales activities adhere to CIRO regulations, internal compliance policies, and best execution standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or other quantitative degrees.
- 5-10+ years experience in a similar role, including client facilitation, relationship management with institutional investors (e.g., hedge funds, asset managers, pension plans), and revenue generation.
- Approved as Registered Representatives (Institutional) or similar categories
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred but not mandatory
- MBA or CFA preferred but not mandatory
- Strong issuer relations.
- Strong relationship-building and client management
- Analytical abilities for market trends
- Financial modeling, and investment ideas;
- Sales acumen for prospecting, RFPs, and revenue growth
- Communication for presentations and client engagement.
- Proficiency in tools like Bloomberg, Iress/Fidessa
- Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint
- Knowledge of equity products, derivatives, and global markets.
