About the role

Braber Equipment is seeking an experienced Junior Purchaser to join our team.

The successful candidate is someone who has a strong background in supply chain management, contract negotiation, vendor management, and inventory control. If you are a highly motivated individual with a passion for supply chain management, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

What you'll do

· Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets

· Oversee inventory levels and set the open-to-buy plan

· Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations

· Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or prospect to the organization

· Negotiate and improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing procurement best practice tools and methods

· Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and prepare supplier performance report cards

· Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly purchasing reports to analyze performance and make improvements

· Other duties, as required





Qualifications

· Proven work experience as a Purchaser

· Familiar with ERP and MRP systems, preferable Syspro

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office

· Keen attention to detail and accuracy and strong analytical skills

· Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills

· Works independently and with a team

· Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers

· Effective problem solving

· Demonstrated commitment to professional and personal development

· Effective team player with strong communication and collaboration skills

· Thrives on challenges and embraces opportunities to learn and grow

· Comfortable and confident communicating by phone

Education and Experience requirements:

· Relevant business degree preferred; CPIM or CIPS or similar qualification is beneficial.

· 1 - 2 years’ experience or working in purchasing team within a manufacturing environment.
