Candidate profile (title) What you'll need to have
Candidate profile (text) - Default language • A formal qualification in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- 7 to 10+ years of experience in Interior Design, Retail Design, Visual Merchandising, or a similar discipline, with a proven track record of delivering results.
- 5+ years of experience leading, coaching, and influencing teams and stakeholders.
- Strong experience in retail environments, preferably within the home furnishing or home décor sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in retail design, consumer behavior, and creating customer-centric experiences.
- Proven ability to plan, execute, and measure business performance, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.
- Strong project management skills with experience driving design initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Ability to combine creative vision with commercial understanding to enhance customer engagement and business outcomes.

Key responsibilities (text) • Provide strategic leadership for Interior Design, ensuring the IKEA identity is consistently reflected across all customer touchpoints, range presentations, and home furnishing solutions.
- Oversee the development and adaptation of cutting-edge, customer-centric, and commercially impactful interior design strategies aligned with IKEA standards, business objectives, and local market needs.
- Build organizational capability by guiding and developing Interior Design teams, fostering expertise in home furnishing trends, retail innovation, and life-at-home insights.
- Drive large-scale design and development initiatives that increase customer engagement, strengthen brand positioning, and support sustainable business growth.
- Partner in the development and execution of country business plans and HF&RD; strategies, ensuring design initiatives contribute to long-term profitability and market success.
- Provide strategic direction for market-specific design concepts and content across physical, digital, and omnichannel customer experiences.
- Establish performance measures and governance processes to evaluate the effectiveness of interior design solutions, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead collaboration with stores and business partners to deliver innovative, scalable, and cost-effective design solutions that address evolving customer and commercial needs.
- Serve as a key contributor to HF&RD; leadership objectives, influencing priorities, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.
- Build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Digital, Customer Fulfilment, Communications, Sustainability, Finance, and People & Culture to ensure alignment and maximize business outcomes.
- Champion a culture of innovation, creativity, and customer focus, ensuring the delivery of inspiring, accessible, and commercially successful home furnishing experiences.
- Influence and shape the long-term vision for interior design, leveraging consumer insights, emerging trends, and market opportunities to strengthen IKEA's competitive position.

Please note that this is a hybrid role which will require your attendance at the Burlington Service Office for a minimum of 3 days per week.

The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 75303 CAD to 103542 CAD and will be based on relevant work experience.
