**Job Description:**
As part of
**TD Insurance** , the
**Data, Analyses, and Insights (DAI)**
group supports internal business partners by providing valuable insights and analyses.
Within DAI, the
**Claims Insights team**
is a trusted partner to executive, operational, and actuarial stakeholders such as Claims Operations, Pricing, Corporate Actuarial, Product, Vendor Management, and others.
The team combines talent from actuaries, business intelligence analysts, and data specialists to provide business-specific insights and analytics to our partners, guiding our stakeholders with decision-making.
Relied on to investigate emerging claims trends, the Claims Insights team generates KPI monitoring, in-depth analyses, as well as actionable recommendations to partners supporting frequency, severity and expense management.
The
**Manager, Actuarial**
is a strategic, responsible, and accountable member of the DAI leadership team.
You will explore aspects of claims data and claims processes with the opportunity to collaborate with key partners across the organization.
You will be instrumental in the delivery of key strategic priorities with regular opportunities to present analyses and reporting broadly to partners and executives.
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Claims Insights the manager will be involved in the following key activities: Lead and develop a group of actuarial and business insights analysts specialized in long-tail claims data, analysis, and interpretation of results.
Manage work on high priority, non-routine, projects related to long-tail claims, and the development of innovative dashboards in collaboration with relevant partners.
Contribute to the timely delivery and presentation of regular reporting and develop analytics and deep dives of long-tail claims financial and operational results to partners and executives across the organization.
Oversee end-to-end analyses and insights solutions over a range of complexity, from the initial demand to the delivery of reporting or analysis and presentation of results.
Apply an effective and collaborative approach to stakeholder management.
Build and nurture positive working relationships with key partners and executives as appropriate.
Build for the future and provide people leadership; oversee personal development plans and strategies to attract, motivate and retain highly diverse, qualified and engaged team members.
**Requirements**
Bachelor's or master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or relevant discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
Experience in claims operations or reserving is an asset.
Strong programming skills (SQL, Python).
Highly developed problem-solving and analysis skills with consistent rigor in quality of work.
Uses innovation and creativity to improve work efficiency and results.
Effective in managing multiple priorities with strong organization and time management skills.
Confidence to motivate, guide, advise, and develop a high-performing team.
Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners and external stakeholders.
Ability to drive change and influence with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
