**What You'll Be Doing**
As a Pipe Layer, you will play a key role in the installation of underground utility systems on civil construction projects.

Working alongside experienced foremen, operators, and pipe layers, you will: Install sanitary sewer, storm sewer, watermain, and shallow utility systems.

Work safely in trenches and active construction environments.

Assist with pipe installation, alignment, bedding, and utility connections.

Support grading activities to ensure proper elevations and slopes.

Assist with excavation support, backfilling, and compaction.

Move materials, tools, and equipment to keep projects running efficiently.

Install stakes and support grade crews in maintaining line and grade accuracy.

Contribute to projects from initial site setup through final grading, curb preparation, and boulevard restoration.

Work closely with supervisors, operators, and fellow crew members to deliver high-quality work safely and efficiently.

Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance.
**What We're Looking For**
**Required Qualifications**
2+ years of Pipe Layer experience in civil construction.

Experience installing sanitary sewer, storm sewer, watermain, and shallow utility systems.

Ability to work safely and effectively in trenches and around heavy equipment.

Reliable transportation to various project sites throughout the Lower Mainland.

Strong attendance, reliability, and commitment to safety.

Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Team-oriented attitude and willingness to work closely with crew members and supervisors.
**Assets Considered an Advantage**
5+ years of Pipe Layer experience.

Experience leading ditch operations or acting as a Senior Pipe Layer.

Previous experience in a unionized construction workplace.

Experience with grading, staking, and working alongside grade crews.

Strong communication and leadership skills.

**Schedule & Project Locations**
Typical shift:
**7:00 AM to 3:00 PM**
Regular overtime available, with most days averaging approximately 9 hours.

Occasional 10-11 hour shifts depending on project requirements.

Weekend and night shifts may be available when required.

Weekend work is generally optional.

Projects are primarily located in: Surrey
Burnaby
Vancouver
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Burnaby, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Burnaby,BC.
