Position Summary
As a Project Superintendent, you will lead mass timber, hybrid (mixed timber with steel, concrete, light-wood framing, and prefabricated assemblies), and modular projects from early planning and constructability review through completion and handover. You will oversee all in office personnel, including Foremen, safety staff, carpenters, labourers, and shop personnel, as required. You will implement company processes and standards, while driving continuous improvement in safety, productivity, quality, and culture.
You will manage the day-to-day coordination of trade partners to ensure they turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule while also maintaining excellent relationships with owners, General Contractors, trade partners, and unions.
Project Assignment & Travel Requirements The successful candidate must be open to working on projects across Canada and the USA. Most of our work is based in the Lower Mainland; however, travel and extended stays away from home may be required. Living Out Allowance (LOA) is available for out-of-town projects only.
As a Project Superintendent your key accountabilities will involve:
- Leading mass timber construction sites, including Foremen, self-performed crews, and trade partners.
- Developing and executing construction plans and project schedules, including mass timber erection sequencing, lifting operations, trade coordination, critical-path activities, and strategies to mitigate schedule risks, delays, conflicts, and interferences.
- Ensuring all site activities align with project objectives, contractual requirements, company standards, approved drawings and specifications, and installation procedures.
- Reviewing, coordinating, and maintaining project documentation, including mass timber shop drawings, lifting and rigging plans, installation procedures, contracts, daily site reports, purchase orders, and other construction records.
- Coordinating labour, equipment, material deliveries, and trade staffing to maintain productivity, meet project milestones, and keep work on schedule.
- Ensuring materials are received, stored, protected, and installed in accordance with approved documents, specifications,
and quality standards.
- Championing a strong safety culture and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and overseeing hazard assessments, safe work procedures, lifting plans, and high-risk activities.
- Establishing, enforcing, and monitoring quality standards across all site activities, proactively resolving issues, and monitoring trade performance.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, inspectors, suppliers, trade partners, and regulatory authorities.
- Reviewing and enforcing contract agreements, identifying scope discrepancies, and coordinating the resolution of contractual issues.
- Monitoring project expenditures, reviewing invoices, and managing labour, material, and equipment costs within project budgets and estimates.
- Managing deficiency, closeout, and warranty activities for current and completed projects.
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing site team members through training, coaching, and regular performance feedback.
- Always maintaining a positive and professional work environment on site.

As a Project Superintendent your experience and qualifications will include:
- 8+ years of construction experience, with demonstrated leadership experience.
- A trade background with progressive experience in general contracting or subcontracting is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in construction is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, labour scheduling, and cost-control practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Experience with mass timber.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently, with demonstrated competence in safety, people management,
- project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.
- A willingness and ability to travel and work on project sites throughout Canada and the United States for extended periods as required.
