Reporting structure and time-commitment

Job duties
● Lithium Sulfide Process Development o Lead laboratory research and development activities related to the synthesis,
purification, and characterization of lithium sulfide and associated lithium specialty chemical products.
o Design, execute, and document experimental programs to develop and optimize lithium sulfide manufacturing processes.
o Identify and evaluate process improvements with respect to product quality, yield,
throughput, safety, cost, and environmental performance.
o Develop robust operating procedures and analytical methods to support process development and scale-up activities.
o Investigate reaction mechanisms, impurity formation pathways, and materials handling challenges associated with lithium sulfide production.
o Conduct laboratory and bench-scale studies to support process scale-up and commercialization.
o Support pilot plant design, commissioning, operation, and troubleshooting activities.
o Collaborate closely with process engineers and manufacturing personnel to transfer laboratory-developed processes into pilot and commercial operations.
o Participate in hazard assessments, process safety reviews, and risk mitigation activities for lithium sulfide manufacturing processes.
● Technical communication o Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders, customers, partners, and investors.
o Present research findings and development progress to technical and non-technical audiences.
o Support customer qualification programs by generating technical data packages and responding to technical inquiries.
o Contribute to invention disclosures, patent applications, technical publications, and grant proposals as appropriate.
o Support project planning and milestone reporting for internal and externally funded development programs.
● Lab safety o Complies with and supports Telescope’s safety protocols including:
▪ procedures for the use and disposal of chemical materials
▪ Telescope’s Environmental Management Plan
▪ maintenance of Telescope’s safety records
▪ WHMIS, and other agencies, as required
Required qualifications
● B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D (preferred) . in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
● Minimum 4 years of relevant industrial or academic experience in process chemistry,
inorganic chemistry, specialty chemical manufacturing, battery materials, or related fields.
● Demonstrated experience developing and executing laboratory research programs with minimal supervision.
● Experience handling air- and moisture-sensitive materials using gloveboxes, Schlenk techniques, or equivalent methods.
● Experience with process development, reaction optimization, and scale-up of chemical manufacturing processes.
● Strong technical problem-solving and experimental design skills.
● Experience with analytical characterization techniques such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, ion chromatography, XRD, FTIR, TGA, SEM, particle size analysis, or related methods.
● Working knowledge of battery materials and is considered an asset.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical stakeholders and customers.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot.Telescope Innovations Corp.

● Experience with statistical analysis, data visualization, and AI (large language models; Claude,
ChatGPT, CoPilot, and related) for workflow automation and research.
● Ability to travel up to 10%, including international travel.
Compensation structure and benefits
● Salary: CAD $110,000-$140,000, based on experience
● Bonus: target 10% of total compensation, based on company objectives and personal objectives mutually agreed upon with management
● Contractor or Employee: Employee (following 3-month probationary period)
● Eligibility for Telescope’s extended health perks programs: Eligible
● Vacation: 15 days of vacation per calendar year, prorated for the first year based on hiring date. 1 additional day each subsequent year of service, up to a maximum of 20 days.
