Job Title: Senior RPA Developer Blue Prism & Power Automate
Location: Toronto, ON Hybrid
Job Type: Full-Time Permanent
Lead the design, build, test, deployment, and maintenance of end-to-end RPA workflows using Blue Prism and Power Automate.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, prioritize initiatives, assess feasibility, and maximize business value realization—accurately analyzing and estimating new processes.
- Analyze, understand, and document business processes in detail where required.
- Identify and communicate the technical infrastructure requirements for automation solutions.
- Evaluate and implement intelligent automation capabilities, including document processing, AI-assisted workflow design, and data extraction technologies.
- Promote adherence to automation governance standards, development best practices, security controls,
and change management processes.
- Own delivery outcomes with autonomy and accountability—driving work forward and staying on task.
- Lead troubleshooting and ongoing support for production RPA workflows serving our business users.
- Bring AI and data-driven thinking into how automations are designed and improved.
- Mentor colleagues by providing advice and guidance on best practices and development techniques, and ensure strong knowledge transfer so capability remains with the team.
Required Skills
Core RPA Platforms
- Blue Prism: hands-on development experience building, deploying, and maintaining automations;
proficiency with the object/process model, work queues, exception handling, and Control Room.
- Power Automate: experience building cloud and desktop flows, connectors, and Power Platform integrations; familiarity with attended vs. unattended automation.
Development & Technical
- Ability to design,
build, test, and deploy end-to-end automated workflows.
- Excellent knowledge of process automation patterns and technologies.
- Understanding of workflow-based logic—able to interpret a business process from a workflow diagram and conceptualize it as an automated solution.
- Strong process analysis and workflow design skills.
- Scripting/coding fundamentals (e.g., VB.NET, C#, Python, or JavaScript).
- Experience integrating automations with APIs, databases (SQL), and enterprise applications.
- DevOps practices: Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and environment promotion strategies.
- Understanding of automation best practices: reusability, error handling, logging, and secure credential management.
Troubleshooting & Support (critical)
- Lead investigation and resolution of complex production automation issues.
- Root-cause analysis and remediation experience supporting business users.
- Ability to monitor bot performance and proactively minimize downtime.
AI & Automation
- Comfort with AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and eagerness to embed AI into development and operational workflows.
- Familiarity with intelligent automation capabilities such as document processing, AI-assisted workflow design, and data extraction technologies.
- Data-driven decision-making mindset.
Tools & Collaboration
- Experience with work-tracking and documentation tools (e.g.,
Jira, Confluence, or equivalents) to manage tasks, track defects, and document processes, solution designs, and support runbooks.
- Version control and change/release management familiarity.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Blue Prism Developer Certification (Accredited Developer / ROM Architect) preferred.
- Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-500 RPA Developer Associate, PL-900 Fundamentals)
preferred.
- Typically 5–8+ years of automation development experience, including supporting production automations and leading larger automation initiatives.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
- Nice-to-have: experience with other RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere), Lean/Six Sigma or business process improvement background.
