The candidate will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and treatment services, including individual, group, and family counseling. The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary approach to strengthen community capacity to plan and support challenging youth closer to home. The candidate will be responsible for promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion by addressing the unique needs of each young person. Job Requirements

The successful candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or a comparable Master’s-level graduate degree in a similar subject. The candidate will be required to seek and obtain registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers within six (6) months of employment if they hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.



The candidate will be required to provide confirmation that any degree obtained outside of Canada has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Service and submit a basic report by the closing date of the posting to be considered. The candidate must have a minimum of one year of full-time equivalent experience working with children, youth, and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services. The candidate must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with no restrictions or an equivalent licence from another Canadian province. Preference may be given to applicants with two (2) or more years of experience working with children, youth, and their families while providing a wide range of community-based mental health services. Preference may be given to applicants with recent experience working in a forensic setting or with a forensic population. Preference may be given to applicants with experience working in a psychiatric or mental health unit. Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) and possess the required combination of education and experience.
