CIFAR seeks an AI Safety Program Manager for its hybrid role at the MaRs Discovery building. You'll lead the Canadian AI Safety Institute (CAISI) research program, advancing national research in AI safety.
This newly created position requires managing and directing AI safety initiatives and partnerships. You'll collaborate closely with the Executive Director and provide leadership for the CAISI. Your work will involve organizing workshops, selecting research proposals, and connecting with various AI institutes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop national AI Safety research programs collaboratively
• Provide administrative leadership for CAISI initiatives
• Organize peer review processes and manage research grants
• Liaise with Canada’s AI Institutes for cooperative projects
• Deliver impactful AI Safety events like workshops and panels
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred
• 3–5 years of relevant program management experience
• Strong project management and communication skills
• Familiarity with research processes in academia
• Data management proficiency and relationship management skills
