Sandgate Women’s Shelter of York Region Inc. is hiring a Full Time Women's Advocate for overnight shifts, focusing on crisis intervention, safety planning, and support. As part of a feminist and intersectional framework, you will collaborate with staff to provide various services for women and their children facing violence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide immediate crisis intervention support to women and children
• Conduct safety risk assessments and develop safety plans
• Facilitate support for navigating the social services system




• Lead and foster cooperative living within the shelter workplace
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of service delivery
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in social work or related field
• Experience in supporting survivors of gender-based violence
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Child and Family Services Act
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification
• Ability to work overnight shifts at the shelter
