Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Shop Laborer & Delivery Driver to support our shop operations and Branch Manager.

This is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with the cleaning, inspection, assembly, repair, handling, and delivery of rod pumps and other oilfield equipment. The successful candidate will help ensure equipment is prepared safely and efficiently while also supporting inventory, shipping and receiving, general shop activities, and field deliveries to customer locations.

This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, takes pride in their work, and is looking to build a career in the oil and gas industry.

The work schedule is 10 days on and 4 days off. Seven of the Ten working days require 24/7 on-call and after-hours availability.

Basic Employee Responsibilities

Every Q2 ALS employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.

- Being responsible – On time for work and take breaks during designated times.
- Carrying out other tasks from time to time as assigned by your manager.
- Lead by example in all aspects of daily expectations.

Position Specific Responsibilities Field Delivery & Equipment Handling

- Pick up and deliver rod pumps and other oilfield equipment to and from customer locations.
- Load and unload field trucks and third-party trucks.
- Safely handle and transport equipment and materials.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.
- Operate a telehandler as required. Training will be provided.

Equipment Cleaning & Inspection

- Clean and inspect rod pumps and other oilfield equipment.
- Use solvents and API-approved tools as required.
- Wash and clean equipment and individual components.
- Take photographs and document inspection findings.
- Identify and report damaged, worn, or defective parts.

Assembly & Repair

- Assist with the assembly, disassembly, and repair of rod pumps and oilfield equipment.
- Follow established procedures and instructions to ensure equipment is prepared safely and correctly.
- Maintain tools and work areas in a clean and organized condition.

Administrative Duties

- Complete paperwork and equipment documentation.
- Pick and prepare parts and materials.
- Assist with stock orders and inventory control.




- Perform basic computer use and data entry.
- Answer phones and assist with general office duties as required.

General Shop Duties

- Sweep and wash shop floors.
- Maintain general housekeeping and organization of the office, shop, and yard.
- Clean bathrooms and remove garbage.
- Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and organized facility.
- Perform other general shop duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications

- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Previous oil and gas experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Valid Class 5 license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel.
- Must live within 30 minutes of Grande Prairie, Alberta.
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours and participate in the required on-call rotation.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Physical Demands The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a physically demanding shop and field environment. Requirements include:

- Regular travel and driving for equipment deliveries and pickups.
- Standing and walking for multiple hours at a time.
- Working shifts ranging from approximately 8–14 hours.
- Working in a shop, yard, and outdoor field environment.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Working with solvents, cleaning products, tools, and oilfield equipment.
- Ability to work safely in varied weather and field conditions.
