Route king Transport is a growing trucking and transportation company based in Winnipeg ,MB serving customers across [British Columbia / Western Canada / Canada and the U.S.]. With a fleet of 30 trucks and a team that takes pride in keeping freight moving safely and on time, we're looking for a detail-oriented bookkeeper to keep our financial operations running just as smoothly.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager the Bookkeeper owns the day-to-day accounting function for the company. You will handle the full cycle of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll, and keep our books accurate, current, and ready for month-end. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced industry — you'll work closely with dispatch, drivers, customers, and vendors, and your work will directly support decisions the leadership team makes every week.

What You'll Do

Accounts Receivable

- Prepare and issue customer invoices from completed loads, rate confirmations, bills of lading, and proof of delivery documents
- Post customer payments, reconcile accounts, and manage factoring submissions if applicable
- Monitor aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts, and resolve billing discrepancies with customers and brokers

Accounts Payable

- Process vendor invoices for fuel, maintenance, insurance, leasing, and other operating costs; match to purchase orders and receiving documents
- Reconcile fuel card and credit card statements and allocate costs by truck/unit
- Schedule and process payments, manage vendor accounts, and maintain organized supporting records

Payroll

- Process bi-weekly payroll for drivers (mileage, hourly, and/or percentage pay) and office staff, including statutory holiday pay, vacation pay, and deductions
- Remit source deductions to CRA on time and administer WorkSafeBC reporting and payments




- Prepare Records of Employment, T4s, and year-end payroll reconciliations Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
- Prepare and file GST/PST returns and support IFTA fuel tax reporting
- Assist with month-end close, financial reports, and year-end working papers for the external accountant
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready records and improve bookkeeping processes as we grow

What You Bring

- 2+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience (AR, AP, and payroll); trucking, transportation, or logistics industry experience is a solid asset
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online/Desktop or Sage) and strong Excel skills
- Working knowledge of CRA payroll remittances, GST/PST filing, and BC Employment Standards; familiarity with IFTA and WorkSafeBC an asset
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines independently
- Strong communication skills for working with drivers, customers, vendors, and external accountants
- Certificate or diploma in accounting or bookkeeping (or equivalent experience); CPB designation an asset

- Competitive salary of $48000 – $52000, commensurate with experience
