Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Production Manager and is responsible for equipment maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and general production support activates within a regulated Natural Health Product (NHP) manufacturing facility.

This is a position that requires strong mechanical aptitude, sound problem-solving skills, and the ability to responded effectively to equipment issues in a fast-pace production environment. Experience with pneumatics systems, electrical components, general fabrication will be considered a strong asset

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, supporting production and ensuring all maintenance activates are completed safety and in accordance with company and regulatory standards

Responsibilities

- Install, assemble, relocate, commission, and assist with the start up of production machinery and equipment
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.




- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues, identify root causes and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Repair, replace and rebuild components such as bearings, belts, gears, motors, pistons and peristaltic pumps
- Identify worn or deteriorating components and take proactive corrective actions to prevent equipment failures
- Respond to production equipment breakdowns and work collaboratively with production to restore equipment to safe and reliable operation
- Ensure maintenance activities and equipment comply with company safety policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and equipment history within the CMMS
- Participate in safety inspections, hazard assessments, root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area
- Collaborate with production, contractors and other departments to support maintenance activities and equipment reliability
- Assist in training production team members on equipment and maintenance practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands on trouble shooting abilities
- Experience with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Working knowledge of electrical systems components and plumbing




- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Proficient with precision measurements, equipment alignment and mechanical adjustments
- Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills

Education & Certification

- Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education, training and relevant experience may be considered

Working Conditions

- Industrial/manufacturing environment
- Physically demanding work requiring lifting, climbing, kneeling, standing and other physical actives.
- Exposure to noise, heat, solid odours, moving machinery and other typical manufacturing conditions
