The PSC Centre of Expertise is looking for an Advisor – Tax Slip Production and Compliance Specialist to support activities related to the production, transmission, and compliance of tax slips.
The successful candidate will act as a payroll and tax slip regulatory compliance expert. They will ensure data validation, oversee the quality of tax slip production, and contribute to maintaining expertise and best practices within their area. This includes using approved artificial intelligence tools to accelerate analysis, research, and documentation, while applying the professional judgment required to validate results.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Participate in the preparation and execution of year-end activities, including report validation and the production and transmission of tax slips.
- Analyze and address complex situations related to tax slips and their compliance.
- Support teams in interpreting and applying government requirements related to tax slips.
- Assess the operational and functional impacts of new legislative requirements.
- Participate in testing, validation, and quality control activities.
- Act as a resource person for internal teams regarding the production, transmission, and compliance of tax slips.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of practices, processes, and tools within the department, including identifying automation opportunities and assessing the responsible use of artificial intelligence solutions to improve quality, efficiency, and traceability.
- Document key knowledge and processes to ensure expertise is maintained.
- Promote knowledge sharing within the Centre of Expertise and the PSC.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Good knowledge of federal and provincial tax regulations.
- PCP designation from the National Payroll Institute (NPI) is an asset.
- Demonstrates autonomy and sound judgment.
- Demonstrates a high level of thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a constantly evolving environment.
- Enjoys analyzing complex situations and finding solutions.
- Demonstrates a strong interest in continuous learning, maintaining professional expertise, and the evolution of digital and artificial intelligence tools applied to payroll.
- Strong organizational and priority-management skills.
- Recognized for collaboration and the ability to share knowledge.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications.
Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $40,000–$75,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
