Our Opportunity
GT Glass is seeking a reliable and hardworking Full-Time Installation Helper to support our daily scheduled installations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in the finished product, keeps equipment/workflow organized & effective, all while delivering optimal service to our Installers and customers.
Position Overview
Under the direction of an Installer, the Installation Helper assists with the measuring, preparation, delivery, documentation, and installation of glass, mirror, shelving, and related products at residential and commercial job sites.
Products may include shower glass enclosures, glass panels, mirrors, and wire shelving.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with measuring, preparing, delivering, and installing products according to work orders and site requirements.
- Assist the Installer with modifications, edgework, and quality checks.
- Pull, organize, double-check, and load required tools, materials, and products onto company vehicles each day.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts,
and supplies and report shortages, damage, or returns promptly.
- Accurately document measurements, photographs, drawings, notes, and job details.
- Safely operate company hand tools, power tools, and other equipment as required.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all company, job-site, and HSE policies and procedures, including required PPE.
- Communicate professionally with customers and promptly report customer concerns or job-site issues.
- Work closely with Installers, Estimators, Customer Service, Warehouse staff, and Management to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
- Perform other related duties and respond to service or emergency calls as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous installation, construction, glazing, or carpentry experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools; experience with drills, impact drivers, miter saws, nail guns, etc. is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, measurements, and work orders.
- Familiarity with caulking is required; restoration experience is an asset.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's license required, or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
- First Aid, CSTS, trade certification, or carpentry experience are considered assets.
- Ability to successfully complete a general math skills assessment.
- Must have CSA approved footwear
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, crouch, squat, push, pull, and crawl as required.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to perform frequent hand, wrist, and arm movements, including occasional overhead work.
- Ability to work safely in residential, commercial, warehouse, and construction environments.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
