Overview

Kooh Law seeks Ontario criminal defence counsel to handle assigned criminal matters within a structured Toronto litigation practice.

Responsibilities

OCJ appearances, disclosure review, client interviews, bail, Crown discussions, JPTs, pleas, sentencing, Charter matters, trial preparation, trials, and private/LAO matters.

Qualifications

Current LSO licence and valuable standing; Ontario criminal courtroom experience; sound judgment; strong client communication; reliable attendance and file management. LAO criminal roster membership or eligibility is an asset.

Technology expectations

Comfort with digital disclosure, practice-management systems, Microsoft 365/Teams/SharePoint, electronic filing, virtual appearances,



PDF workflows and secure digital client communications.

Compensation and application

Contract-counsel compensation based on professional fees collected on assigned matters. Terms discussed confidentially with shortlisted candidates. No book of business required. Submit a CV and 3-4 note addressing year of call, LAO status, availability, courts regularly attended, and matters you can independently handle.
