Maple Downs Golf & Country Club is expanding its Grounds & Greens team and is currently hiring for seasonal turf maintenance positions. These roles are available immediately and are ideal for dependable individuals who are comfortable working early mornings, including weekdays and alternating weekends. Candidates should be available to work through at least November 1.

About the Role

As part of the Grounds & Greens team, you’ll play an important role in keeping the golf course well-maintained and looking its best throughout the season. The position involves a variety of hands-on outdoor tasks and the operation of turf care equipment.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

- Mowing and maintaining greens, tees, fairways, and rough areas
- Preparing and maintaining sand bunkers
- Using turf care machinery, equipment, and hand tools
- Removing leaves, branches, and other debris from the course
- Assisting with general groundskeeping and maintenance duties as required

Hours & Scheduling

This is a seasonal position expected to continue through November, depending on weather and course conditions.

The regular schedule is generally:

- Monday–Thursday: 6:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
- Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
- Every other weekend: 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

During particularly busy periods,



employees may be asked to work additional hours or adjust their schedules as needed.

Physical Requirements

This position involves physically demanding outdoor work. Candidates should be comfortable with:

- Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Being on their feet and walking for extended periods
- Frequent bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Performing repetitive physical tasks throughout a shift
- Using tools and equipment with good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

Work Environment

Work is performed outdoors and will involve a range of seasonal weather conditions, including:

- Rain and wind
- Hot summer temperatures
- Cooler fall temperatures
- Extended exposure to outdoor conditions
- Working around large groundskeeping machinery and equipment

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

- Be dependable, hardworking, and bring a positive attitude to the workplace
- Have robust communication and teamwork skills
- Be able to follow directions and pay close attention to detail
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Have previous landscaping or golf course maintenance experience (an asset, but not required)
