Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Architectural Technologist/Drafter to join our team for a one-year contract. In this role, you will be responsible for translating architectural concepts into technical shop drawings, ensuring all project specifications and company standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technical Drawing: Create comprehensive shop drawings, including Key Plans, elevations, roof/soffit plans, sections, and details.
- Cladding Material Expertise: Work with a variety of architectural products such as Metal Siding, Insulated Metal Panels (IMP), and Aluminum Composite Material (ACM).
- Project Review: Fully review and interpret project files, drawings, and manufacturer literature prior to project commencement.
- Documentation: Prepare accurate bills of materials based on "Issued for Construction" drawing sets.
- Coordination:



Maintain active communication with Project Managers, Coordinators, and Estimators to ensure all change orders are accurately captured and reflected in drawings.
- Quality Control: Work across departments to ensure drawings are error-free and convey the correct information according to company standards.

Qualifications

- Education: Graduate of Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical program.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Software: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Knowledge of Bluebeam considered an asset
- Competencies: Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex engineering and architectural documents.
- Experience: Previous experience in the cladding or building systems industry is considered a strong asset.
