THE ROLE:
Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Financial Accountant to join their team on a 3-month contract and provide hands-on support across financial reporting, month-end activities, and corporate accounting functions

Key responsibilities include:
Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including management, board, and stakeholder reporting
Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and investigate key financial trends
Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, amortization, and cost allocations
Support the consolidation of multiple entities, including intercompany accounting and eliminations
Assist with the preparation of financial statements, MD& A, and note disclosures under ASPE
Contribute to quarterly and year-end reporting requirements
Liaise with auditors and assist with audit deliverables and regulatory reporting requests
Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and controls

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
Strong background in month-end close, financial statement preparation, and reporting packages
Experience preparing MD& A and note disclosures
Proven experience with consolidations and intercompany eliminations across multiple entities
Advanced knowledge of reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, allocations, and journal entries
Strong analytical skills with experience performing variance analysis
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis functions
Experience working in a private company environment with ASPE reporting standards
CPA designation or progress toward a CPA considered an asset
Experience with Oracle Cloud and Smart View is considered an asset
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the business
Self-motivated, inquisitive, and comfortable taking initiative in a changing environment
