Position Summary
This position supports Arctic Co-ops and subsidiaries and is responsible for the accurate processing of accounts payable, SAP Concur payment processes, documentation tracking and tracing, filing and reconciliation of accounting information as well as accounts receivable entries. The position helps with the closing process as part of accounting operations
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform T2i payment process tasks (capture & workflow)
- Monthly reconciliation of vendor accounts to prevent late fees and/or surcharge
- Investigate any potential invoice errors and correct problems before the invoice is sent out to the Co-operatives
- Recommend effective accounting practices and procedures and provide accounting support to business unit staff
- Preparing journal entries
- Ensure documentation on procedures are updated on a continuous basis to reflects the current administrative process performed of the position
- Provide back up to other accounting clerks as required
- Assist in mid-month/month-end co-op statement matching
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year accounting experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency using Sage Accpac
- An intermediate level of computer literacy (the internet, MS Office Suite, web-based applications and basic FTP)
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve day-to-day financial business problems
- Ability to create, maintain, and modify complex spreadsheets
- Experience in the preparation of bank and account reconciliation and journal entries
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Pay: $19.13-$22.50 per hour
