Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager, Event Sales and Accounts will support private hire and Museum sales activity for the organization, help drive sustainable revenue growth through client development, and consistent progress towards revenue targets. This role manages a portfolio of accounts, building pipeline, closing deals, supporting upsell, efforts, while coordinating with other teams to ensure sales activity aligns with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Strategy & Target Management
· Support execution of the annual private hire sales strategy in line with organizational revenue goals.
· Track and help meet quarterly and annual revenue targets across private hire and institutional service lines.
· Monitor sales trends and pipeline data, flagging issues and opportunities as they arise.
· Help identify and pursue new revenue opportunities, client segments, and partnership channels.
· Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue reports for leadership review.
Client Development & Upselling
· Manage high-value client relationships from prospecting through contract close and retention.
· Support upselling efforts to grow revenue per client across premium packages, add-on services, extended bookings, and ancillary programming.
· Manage the sales cycle for major accounts: RFP responses, proposals, site visits, negotiations, and contract execution.
· Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and community functions to expand the client network.
Sales Process & Collateral
· Help refine the sales process, pricing structures, and package offerings.
· Create sales collateral, pitch decks, and proposal templates.
· Maintain Tessitura workflows to keep pipeline data accurate and visible.
· Coordinate with Marketing to align outreach with sales objectives.
· Work with events, operations, and finance teams to support profitability and delivery.
· Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum university undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, or related field.
· 2-5 years of progressive sales experience, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a client-facing sales role.
· Experience developing sales strategies, managing pipelines, and closing complex accounts.
· Background in nonprofit, hospitality, venue, events, or institutional services strongly preferred.
· Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
· Ability to translate organizational mission into compelling, revenue-generating value propositions.
· Highly organized, accurate and detail oriented.
· Ability to work outside of regular business hours as required.
· Expressed interest in the mandate of the Museum.
The salary range for this position is $70,000–$75,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
