Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsperson & customer service rep to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise and comprehensive technical drawings and schematics that support quotations and orders. You will also be taking orders and providing quotes to clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects while honing your technical skills in a positive environment.

- Full time Permanent role
- Mon–Fri 8am–4:30pm
- $25.00 per hour, paid weekly on Fridays
- group health benefits with permanent hire after 3 months
- in office only (not remote)
-Time Split: 45% on CAD, 45% on telephone & customer service, 10% in metal shop

Duties

- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using Autodesk Inventor CADD and solidworks to support customers quotations and orders.
- Create accurate schematics, layouts, and construction documentation adhering to project specifications and industry standards
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with safety regulations
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials including 2D animations and visualizations for client or stakeholder review
- Speak with clients via email & phone to assess product needs, timeline and guide their experience
- Order material and shop supplies
- Verify that incoming and outgoing orders match shop drawings
- Schedule production for welders and painters
- Maintain a safe working environment and monitor others for safety
- Other duties as required

Qualifications

- Proven experience with AutoCAD is essential; familiarity with SolidWorks is highly desirable




- Strong drafting skills with a solid understanding of schematics, and technical standards
- Experience working with manufacturing of steel and aluminum products is highly desireable
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and convert them into accurate CAD models
- Excellent telephone manner
- MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong arithmetic and measurement abilities
- Knowledge of 2D animation techniques is a plus for creating engaging visual presentations
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Must be able to speak English and Punjabi
- Have own vehicle
- Ability to lift 25LBS

Education

- recent college diploma in mechanical/industrial drafting/design

Will train for:

- telephone service and quotations to customers
- order material and shop supplies
- verifying that incoming and outgoing orders match shop drawings (dimensions and colour)
- schedule production for welders and painters
- monitor safety
- first aid certification
- general duties as required
