Lab Improvements builds benchtop robotic systems that automate high risk or repetitive tasks in medical laboratories. Our solutions assist with the diagnosis and treatment of disease and impact patient treatment. We are looking for someone to join our team to help support our device development, setup recent systems and support existing systems.

The candidate must come with a proven interest in software and hardware and a deep interest in automating processes: testing, builds, backups. Our solutions sit on the front lines of patient care and interested candidates must have a strong desire to go the extra mile to build things right, both in software and hardware. The candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

- prepare NAS and/or VM environments using Linux and Windows OSs

- install and configure our proprietary software systems for clients (training to be provided)

- help build, and possibly prototype our hardware platforms which use Arduino, RPi, and proprietary boards.

- remote support of our hardware and software systems when required; On-site installation and/or support at client sites could be an occasional perk if that is something that interests you.

To be capable of these activities,



the candidate must have:

- experience with administration of one or more flavours of Linux as well as Windows 10/11

- networking experience, enough to understand routing, DNS, DHCP, and the ability to setup networking on servers and clients

- experience with working with, updating, and configuring NAS Servers - particularly QNAPs.

- some experience with automation - specifically control of stepper motors and sensors using Arduinos and RPis.

- a good working knowledge of Docker, docker containers, and docker compose files.

- a basic understanding of C (on the Arduino) and Python3.9+ (used in product firmware and support utilities) would be beneficial but is not required.

- has used and fully endorses Unit Testing, use of GIT, bitbucket (or github) interactions.

It would be beneficial for the candidate to:

- be versed in CI/CD - particularly bitbucket pipelines

- PCB circuit design and wiring/soldering

- C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS

- SQL and MySql Databases

- Experience working with customers and or technicians for remote support and troubleshooting

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
