McLeod Lake Indian Band is seeking a dedicated Store Manager for Tse’Khene Food and Fuel. Tse’Khene Food and Fuel is located on the reserve of McLeod Lake Indian Band. The store is a one stop destination offering a small restaurant, motel rooms, convenience groceries, and a gas station. It serves several customer groups such as the residents of McLeod Lake, Highway 97 traffic, campers heading towards Carp Lake Provincial Park, and campers coming from Whiskers Point Provincial Park.

Working under the direction of the Business Development Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for day-to-day store operations, including scheduling, training and supervising employees. The store manager is accountable for the store finances as it relates to revenues, expenditure, cash and inventories.

This full-time position is based on reserve in McLeod Lake and requires 35 hours per week, with commuter services currently provided to/from both Mackenzie and Prince George. Hours may be required to be flexed based on the demands of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

· Assist in the recruitment and training of store staff.

· Motivate, encourage and challenge store cashiers; by ensuring excellent customer services.

· Promote and resolve customer complaints, in a timely and professional manner.

· Implement and enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure store cleanliness.

· Ensure that all merchandise is adequately stocked, attractively and safely displayed, and priced correctly.





· Supervise and discipline all store employees according to BC employment standards and company policies.

· Montior gasoline sales and ordering.

· Complete daily paperwork, monthly report and computer entry in a timely manner, as established by management.

· Understand all information in the daily report on store operations.

· Implement monthly promotions and ensure all POS advertising/signage is properly posted at the proper time.

· Communicate and perform all price change requests, mark downs/ups as needed.

· Prepare and present monthly report to the Board of Directors, and to the Business Development Director on a weekly basis.

· Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or accidents.

· Account for all cigarette sales and make available report to the finance department on time.

· Review, signa and submit store staff timesheets.

· Conduct regular staff meetings as needed.

· Monitor cash over/short, inventory shrinkage, and drive offs daily.

· Adhere to the policies and procedures of the company and the band.

Skills and Attributes

· Ability to manage operations of a store, motel, and gas station





· Ability to manage the daily sales transactions and account for revenue and expenses

· Marketing skills

· Ability to motivate, recruit and retain staff

· Time management skills

· Class 5 driver’s license

· Be bondable

Education/Experience

· Business Administration Certification or equivalent experience and/or education

Preference may be given to the following: Indigenous people with relevant experience; those with previous experience or a combination of skills and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position. Additional training will be provided to the successful candidate as needed.
