We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Integration Specialist / Recreational Therapist to provide one-on-one, full-time support for a child with special needs within our inclusive daycare setting.

In this role, you will implement therapeutic intervention and early childhood play, while working on the child's specific motor, social, cognitive, and sensory goals. You will focus on integrating the child into daily classroom routines, outdoor play, and group activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Direct One-on-One Support: Guide and assist the child throughout the daycare day, facilitating participation in daily activities, transition periods, mealtime, and play.
- Goal Implementation: Collaborate with external specialists (PT, OT, SLP) and caregivers to integrate therapeutic goals into engaging, play-based recreational activities.
- Adaptive Programming: Modify games, sensory setups, crafts, and physical activities to ensure accessible, meaningful participation alongside peers.
- Peer Integration & Social Skills:



Foster positive peer interactions to support social-emotional development.
- Behavioural & Sensory Regulation: Implement individualized sensory routines and positive behavior support strategies to help the child manage transitions and emotional regulation.
- Progress Tracking & Communication: Maintain ongoing documentation of goal progress, daily observations, and milestones; provide updates to educators, specialists, and parents.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, Kinesiology or Special Education.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with young children with physical, developmental, or neurological disabilities.
- Skills: Solid understanding of adaptive play techniques, childhood development, sensory integration, and behaviour management strategies.

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
