Overview
We are looking for a Junior or Senior level Marine/Outboard Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in the repair, maintenance and/or installation of Outboard Motors and their associated systems.
Our ideal hire would be comfortable and proficient with servicing and diagnosing running concerns on Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda outboards, as well as other associated boat systems. A valid driver's license is required to perform service calls and repairs in the field when necessary. SVOP certification is preferred, but not required.
This role would see you as part quick paced Marine & Powersports shop with a dynamic team of long term employees. This exciting industry is constantly evolving and we are looking for a passionate technician to add to our team.
We are looking for the following:
- Proficiency with outboard engines and other relevant boat systems
- Ability to diagnose & problem solve
- Works well in a team setting & independently
- Strong knowledge of all boat systems: electrical/electronics, plumbing, steering, etc.
- Physically fit to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willing to learn & stay current with industry standards; with opportunity to further your education in this field
- Participate in maintaining a clean & safe shop
- Support a culture of continuous improvement to increase efficiencies & reduce costs
- Specialty tools provided; must have personal tool collection available to bring onsite
- Forklift certificate an asset but not required
Experience
- Outboard and small engine experience is required (Prefer experience with Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda)
- Proven experience working with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical systems is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge is essential for diagnosing issues and implementing solutions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a rapid-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the technical field.
- Valid Driver's License is required.
- Pleasure Craft Operator's license is required.
