Canada

Fueling Brains Academy is looking for experienced and passionate Lead Teachers to join our Senior Preschool program at our West 85th Campus in Calgary.

We are currently recruiting across three classroom leadership opportunities:

-
Left Brain – Jumping Junipers: A structured, intentional and Montessori-inspired learning environment focused on independence, concentration, problem-solving, practical learning and Kindergarten readiness.

- Right Brain – Pondering Pines: A creative, inquiry-driven and Reggio-inspired learning environment where children's interests, questions and ideas inspire exploration, projects, collaboration and meaningful play-based learning.

- Movement – Roaring Redwoods: An active, movement-focused learning environment supporting children approximately 4.5–6 years old. This role uses purposeful movement, physical literacy, games and active learning experiences to strengthen children's coordination, confidence, self-regulation, executive functioning and overall development. The Lead Teacher will also work closely alongside our certified Kindergarten Teacher to provide a cohesive learning experience for the children.

Whether your strengths lie in structured Montessori-inspired teaching, creative inquiry-based learning, or movement and physical literacy, we are looking for strong Level 3 educators who can confidently lead a classroom, create meaningful learning experiences and support a collaborative educator team.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Lead Teacher, you will take ownership of your homeroom and play an important role in creating a high-quality learning environment for children.

Rooted in the Fueling Brains philosophy, you will design developmentally appropriate experiences that strengthen children's executive functions while fostering independence, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, confidence and Kindergarten readiness.

Depending on your experience, strengths and interests, you may be considered for one of our Left Brain, Right Brain or Movement classroom opportunities.

You will also provide day-to-day classroom leadership by mentoring and guiding Group Educators, partnering with families and ensuring children receive a consistent, engaging and supportive learning experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Lead a homeroom and create a welcoming, engaging and developmentally appropriate learning setting.

- Plan and implement meaningful learning experiences aligned with your classroom's Left Brain, Right Brain or Movement approach.

- Design lesson plans and classroom experiences aligned with Fueling Brains' curriculum, term structure and executive function goals.

- Facilitate engaging learning blocks, individual and small-group experiences, projects, movement experiences and daily routines appropriate to your classroom stream.

- Support children's independence, self-regulation, confidence, communication, problem-solving and Kindergarten readiness.

- Observe, document and assess children's learning, development and executive function growth.

- Adapt programming to children's individual developmental needs, strengths and interests.

- Maintain accurate progress documentation and participate in parent-teacher interviews.

- Mentor and guide Group Educators, model robust teaching and positive guidance practices, and establish explicit classroom expectations.

- Collaborate with educators across the campus to provide children with a cohesive and consistent experience.

- Build trusting, professional relationships with families and communicate children's progress and development effectively.

- Maintain appropriate child-to-educator ratios and consistently follow Alberta childcare licensing, health, safety and active supervision requirements.

- Participate in professional development, training, campus initiatives and community events.
