JOB DESCRIPTION

St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary School (STA) in North Vancouver is seeking a skilled, organized, and detail-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our school community. This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) position that will support and work alongside our current bookkeeper.

This role is well-suited to someone who is dependable, collaborative, and confident managing a variety of accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities in a busy school setting.

Responsibilities include:

- Administering payroll, benefits, and pension processes
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate financial records
- Reconciling bank accounts, preparing journal entries, and producing month-end financial reports
- Preparing and distributing T4s and Records of Employment (ROEs)
- Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets
- Preparing GST and WCB filings




- Issuing tuition tax receipts to families
- Preparing the audit package and assisting auditors during the annual mandatory Ministry of Education audit
- Performing other accounting and administrative duties as needed

Experience and qualifications:

- Minimum of three years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll administration, and full-cycle accounting
- Experience using Sage 50 Accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a team
- Careful attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
