K2 Electric Ltd. is seeking an experienced Civil Journeyperson / Foreman to support civil construction projects throughout British Columbia. This position is well suited to a hands-on leader with experience coordinating crews, equipment, subcontractors, and daily field activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.

Experience working on BC Hydro sites or within utility, substation, transmission, or electrical infrastructure environments is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise civil crews during daily construction activities
- Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to meet project requirements
- Perform and oversee excavation, trenching, backfilling, grading, compaction, and site preparation
- Support concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, underground utilities, duct bank, and grounding installations
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, grade plans, and construction packages
- Plan daily work activities and communicate requirements clearly to crews
- Complete field-level hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, equipment inspections, and daily documentation
- Monitor workmanship and ensure work complies with project specifications and K2’s quality requirements
- Coordinate inspections and testing with project management, quality personnel, and third-party representatives
- Track daily progress, labour, equipment, materials, delays, and changing site conditions
- Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment
- Work collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, client representatives, and other trades
- Assist with hands-on civil work and equipment operation as required

Qualifications

- Extensive experience in civil construction,



with previous experience in a foreman or crew-lead position
- Journeyperson certification in a related civil trade is preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered
- Experience with earthworks, underground utilities, excavation, grading, compaction, and concrete construction
- Experience working on BC Hydro, utility, substation, or high-voltage infrastructure projects is a strong asset
- Strong understanding of construction safety requirements and safe excavation practices
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and grade information
- Experience coordinating crews, equipment, subcontractors, and daily work activities
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to complete accurate daily reports and project documentation
- Experience operating excavators, loaders, skid steers, compactors, or similar civil equipment is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent
- Previous BC Hydro Training (PSSP/WPP), First Aid, Operator Tickets or other relevant certifications are considered assets
- Willingness to travel and work at project locations throughout British Columbia

Pay: $43.00-$55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
