About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Accountant / Bookkeeper to come into our Vaughan office 1 to 2 days per week to handle our accounting needs. In this role, you will come in, efficiently process the bookkeeping and core accounting tasks, and leave once the work is complete for the week.

This is a strictly part-time contract role (6.5 to 15 hours per week) and will not become a permanent full-time position. It is ideal for an experienced accountant currently holding a full-time job who wants secondary contract work on the side, or an independent bookkeeper looking to add a local client to their schedule.

Schedule & Location

- Workload: 6.5 to 15 hours per week (1–2 visits on-site per week; flexible scheduling).
- Location: Vaughan, ON.

Responsibilities

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or Workday.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to record financial transactions and maintain detailed records.




- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with account analysis and budgeting activities to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Generate financial reports and summaries for management review, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Keep financial records organized for HST/GST compliance and year-end reporting.

Qualifications

- Proven accounting or bookkeeping experience (currently working an accounting job full time or managing an independent bookkeeping workload).
- Ability to work completely independently with minimal supervision—come in, do the work, and get it done accurately.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Sage, Xero, or Workday) and Excel.
- Reliable transportation to our office in Vaughan, ON.

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.5 – 15.0 per week
