Established in 1981, Pronghorn Controls Ltd. supplies high quality instrumentation and electrical services and products to the oil and gas, pipeline and petrochemical industries; and to a diverse and expanding array of industry clients across Western Canada. We are recruiting for a Instrumentation Technician-Meter Prover for Brooks, Alberta. Work is in industrial and construction environments, predominantly in the oil and gas sector.
- Tests accuracy of meters using known controls and a series of mathematical computations to produce meter factors.
- Calibrates and proves customer owned meters
- Manages and schedules customer meter proving requirements (monthly, annually, and semi-annually)
- Ensures compliance with ERC Board regulations
- Manages and maintains company equipment and a company vehicle
- Ensures compliance to QHSE programs and participates in Health and Safety initiatives
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of volumetric, gravometric and mass meter proving methods
- Thorough understanding of custody transfer meters and internal measurement meters.
- Understanding of fundamental process flow of oil and gas facilities
- Ability to read and understand Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID;) an asset
- Knowledge of the oil and gas industry
- Computer skills – e ticketing, Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Instrumentation experience or training preferred
