Key Responsibilities
ENGAGEMENT WITH MEMBERS
· Build positive, trusting relationships through consistent encouragement
· Actively participate alongside members in games, activities, and daily routines
· Use explicit, supportive communication tailored to each members’ needs and comfort level
· Promote independence whenever possible
· Encourage social interaction and help facilitate friendships within the group
· Celebrate successes (big and small)
to build confidence and a sense of belonging
PROACTIVE SUPPORT & AWARENESS
· Observe member closely to understand preferences, routines, and early signs of discomfort
· Identify potential triggers in advance (i.e. transitions, noise levels, group dynamics, fatigue)
· Modify activities or environments proactively to support positive participation
· Provide gentle redirection and calming strategies before behaviours escalate
· Prepare members for transitions using reminders, visual cues, or structured routines
· Maintain awareness of group dynamics to prevent overwhelming situations
· Communicate observations with the team to ensure consistent, supportive approaches
· Create a safe, inclusive space where members feel valued and supported
Pay: $17.86 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
