Who We Are

Arrow Custom Machining Ltd. is an established, family-owned machine shop located in Cambridge, Ontario. For over 45 years, we have provided precision machining services to customers across a variety of industries.

Our work ranges from small, high-volume production components to large, complex custom-machined parts. With a broad range of CNC milling, turning and boring capabilities, we take on challenging work that requires skilled machinists who understand the entire machining process—not just how to operate a machine.

We are looking for an experienced machinist to join our team and take ownership of jobs from setup through final inspection.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist with a strong background in CNC milling and/or turning.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working independently in a custom machining setting. You should be capable of reading a drawing, planning and completing a setup, selecting appropriate tooling, proving out a program, making adjustments at the machine, and producing parts that meet the required specifications.

Our work includes both custom/low-volume machining and repeat production, so the ideal candidate is comfortable working on a variety of parts, materials and setups.

What You'll Be Doing

- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
- Perform complete machine setups, including workholding, tooling, offsets and part zeroes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and machining specifications.
- Program CNC equipment and/or make program and G-code edits at the machine.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds for the job.
- Prove out new and existing programs and make adjustments as required.
- Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
- Ensure completed parts meet drawing specifications and quality requirements.

- Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling and setup issues.
- Work independently while collaborating with other machinists and management when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.

What We're Looking For

- 7+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
- Solid CNC milling and/or CNC turning experience.
- Proven ability to independently set up CNC equipment.
- Experience in a custom, low-volume or high-mix machining environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, workholding, speeds and feeds.
- Experience with precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers and bore gauges.
- Ability to edit CNC programs and G-code at the machine.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned jobs.
- Experience with both CNC mills and lathes is a strong asset.
- Experience machining large or complex components is an asset.

Schedule

- Monday–Friday
- Day shift
- 40 hours per week
- Early finish every Friday
- No rotating shifts

What We Offer

- $30.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience and capabilities.

- Company-provided workwear.
- Consistent weekday/day-shift schedule.
- Early finish on Fridays.
- Opportunities to work on a wide variety of machining projects.
- Stable, established, family-owned company.

If you're an experienced CNC machinist who takes pride in producing quality work and enjoys the variety and challenge of custom machining, we'd like to hear from you.
