About Elevate Consulting
Elevate Consulting is a business management consulting firm that helps organizations solve complex problems and make better decisions. Our work includes planning, organizational transformation, financial and business analysis, change management, stakeholder engagement, procurement and other advisory services. Our projects range from focused short-term assignments to complex, multi-year engagements.
We are a small consulting firm, which means our consultants are actively involved in the work. Team members may lead projects, facilitate discussions, conduct analysis, manage workstreams, develop recommendations and create the deliverables our clients rely on.
Our clients expect a lot from us. We expect a lot from ourselves too.
We care about thoughtful analysis, robust judgment, excellent work and helping our clients succeed.
And yes, we like to have some fun while we do it too!
Consultant, Finance

Victoria, BC | Edmonton, AB | Hybrid / Remote within British Columbia or Alberta
Turn complex financial questions into clear, defensible decisions.
Elevate Consulting is looking for a Consultant, Finance who can take complex financial, operational and organizational information, make sense of it, build rigorous analysis and turn that work into recommendations senior leaders can actually use.
You may be building a multi-year financial model one day, assessing funding or cost-management options the next, and developing an executive presentation that distills complicated analysis into a clear decision.
This is a consulting role for someone who enjoys both thinking and doing. You will need strong analytical capability, sound judgment, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in an environment where the answer is not always obvious.
What You’ll Do
As a Consultant, Finance, you will work across a variety of client engagements involving financial analysis, business planning, organizational decision-making and transformation.
Your work may include:
- Developing complex multi-year and multi-variable financial, economic and scenario models.
- Conducting financial reviews, assessments and analysis.
- Completing cost-benefit analysis, benchmarking, activity-based costing and options analysis.
- Developing financial forecasts, funding models and cost-management strategies.
- Assessing project, program or organizational benefits and benefit realization.
- Reviewing financial information and identifying key risks, opportunities and implications.
- Translating detailed analysis into clear recommendations for executives and decision-makers.
- Creating concise, executive-level reports, presentations and decision materials.
- Supporting workshops, client meetings and stakeholder discussions.
- Managing your own workstreams and contributing to larger consulting engagements.
- Supporting business development, including identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals and helping develop new client relationships.
What We Want to See on Your Resume
We want to see enough evidence to understand the work you have done and the level at which you have operated. We will be looking for experience such as:
- Financial modelling, economic modelling, forecasting or scenario analysis.
- Financial reviews, assessments or business-case development.
- Cost-benefit analysis, benchmarking or activity-based costing.
- Development of funding models or cost-management strategies.
- Preparing analysis and recommendations for executives or senior decision-makers.
- Consulting, advisory, corporate finance, strategy, public-sector finance or a similarly analytical environment.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and strong capability with Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience contributing to client relationships, proposals or business development.
- Experience working with public-sector organizations, public-sector financial reporting, government funding structures or similar environments is a strong asset.
Relevant education may include:
- CPA or another recognized accounting designation.
- MBA.
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
- An equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
What We’ll Look for When We Meet You
While your resume tells us what you have done, it does not tell us nearly enough about how you think. During the interview process, we will be paying close attention to your ability to:
- Break down a complicated problem and identify what actually matters.
- Apply judgment when there is no perfect answer.
- Ask thoughtful questions before jumping to a solution.
- Explain complex financial concepts in plain language.
- Write and communicate clearly.
- Listen carefully to clients and colleagues.
- Work comfortably with incomplete information and changing priorities.
- Manage details without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Take ownership of your work and follow through.
- Receive feedback, challenge assumptions respectfully and improve your thinking.
- Use technology and AI thoughtfully without outsourcing the thinking itself.
- Balance analytical rigour with pragmatism.
Shortlisted candidates will complete a brief practical exercise. We are interested in seeing how you approach the work, organize information and communicate your thinking.
You’ll Probably Thrive Here If You...
- Like solving difficult problems.
- Enjoy producing tangible work rather than spending your entire day in meetings.
- Care deeply about the quality of what you deliver.
- Can manage several priorities without needing someone to organize every step for you.
- Are curious enough to ask why.
- Are confident enough to offer a point of view and thoughtful enough to change it when the evidence says you should.
- Enjoy being part of a small consulting firm where everyone contributes.
- Understand that great consulting requires both thinking and doing.
- Get genuine satisfaction from helping clients succeed.
This Role Is Probably Not for You If You...
- Need highly prescribed work with limited ambiguity.
- Avoid detailed analytical work.
- Struggle to manage competing priorities independently.
- Prefer talking about the work to producing the work.
- See quality control and self-editing as someone else’s responsibility.
- Expect AI to replace critical thinking, professional judgment or accountability.
- Are uncomfortable working directly with clients or receiving candid feedback.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $130,000 CAD annually.
Placement within the range will reflect the depth and relevance of your experience, financial and analytical expertise, consulting capability, ability to independently lead client work and demonstrated business development experience.
Elevate also offers a broader total rewards package that includes:
- Comprehensive extended health benefits.
- Health Spending Account.
- Flexible and hybrid work arrangements.
- Additional employee benefits and programs.
How to Apply
If this sounds like work you would be good at and a consulting environment you would enjoy, we would like to hear from you. Please submit:
- A one- or two-page resume.
- A brief cover letter telling us why this opportunity and Elevate interest you.
- The location you are nearest to: Victoria or Edmonton
Applications must be submitted through the Apply Now process. We appreciate every application. Only candidates selected to move forward in the recruitment process will be contacted.
